Sheet C-401 · The ledger

Atlanta siding costs: one ledger, printed rates, no mystery numbers

Typical installed ranges for metro Atlanta, October 2026 — material and labour together, on a straightforward wall. Your house gets a quote only after someone measures it; this ledger tells you whether that quote is in the county of reasonable.

Assumptions, stated Rates assume sound sheathing, standard access, one- or two-storey walls, and trim re-used or like-for-like where sound. Tear-off is priced separately below because not every job needs it. Steep, tall, heavily cut-up elevations, sheathing replacement, and historic-district detailing move a job within — and sometimes beyond — its range.
Installed cost per square foot of wall area, plus full-wall examples at the same rates (siding only, before tear-off).

Measuring wall area: add each wall's length × height, subtract large openings (garage doors, big glass), and count gable triangles at half base × height. Floor area is not wall area — a 2,000 sq ft two-storey house often has about 1,400–1,800 sq ft of wall. Ranges here are this book's consolidated Atlanta ledger, checked against published Atlanta cost-guide data in October 2026 and stated as a range rather than a point estimate.

Tool 02

The ledger estimator

Presets: small ranch ≈ 900 · typical two-storey ≈ 1,500 · large / tall gables ≈ 2,200.

Itemized range

Adjust the area or material — the arithmetic uses exactly the printed ledger rates above. Without scripts, read the table: it is complete on its own.

What moves a quote inside its range

Storeys and access (scaffolding time), number of corners and openings, gable complexity, sheathing condition found at tear-off, trim and soffit scope, paint or factory finish, and review requirements — HOA palettes and historic-district detailing both add design and labour time. Permits: like-for-like siding replacement in the City of Atlanta is generally treated as exempt from a building permit, while additions and structural changes are not — confirm with your jurisdiction, because suburbs and overlays differ.

How this site works — stated plainly This is a guide and connection service, not a contractor. Reading here costs nothing. If you use the request form, your project summary is shared with one vetted local siding contractor serving metro Atlanta, who contacts you to arrange an in-person assessment. No contractor pays to change anything written in this book, and no page here claims this site installs siding.
